The McGill Space Elevator Team is a group of students from McGill University who compete at the annual Space Elevator Games power beaming competition. It is amongst one of NASA's seven centennial challenges, designed to stimulate innovation through the awarding of cash prizes.
The team is working hard to create a laser beaming system for the 2008 competition. While the event is organized by the Spaceward Foundation, NASA will be supplying a $2 million USD prize to the winning team.
